On September 20, 2011, a woman called Sarah, rang RTÉ 2FMs Tubridy Show looking for a copy of All about Home Economics. Kate and Aisli Madden were so moved that the public were crying out for a copy of All about Home Economics, that they decided to selfpublish a reprint. Within a week the orig book was scanned by Bob in grm.ie, and the project got underway. 6 weeks after the initial call to The Tubridy Show, the Madden Girls bring you All about Home Economics, the reprint.
All About Home Economics was first published in 1983. It was the seminal text for intermediate certificate Home Economics for over 15 years. Over the years, we have often been asked about All About Home Economics -
Deirdre died in 1999 at the age of 56. This publication of All About Home Economics is brought to you by Deirdre's daughters, Kate and Aisli Madden who hope that their Mum's guide to cooking, sewing and running a home will be enjoyed by those who remember Deirdre's books, and by a new generation.
The standard author's royalty, 10% of the profits of this book, will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society, whose Daffodil Nurse, Carmel, helped support Deirdre and "her girls" in her final days.
